In tight collaboration with the big Italian NGO "Fondazione don Gnocchi" Rainbow for Africa has started a new project in Sierra Leone, set up in a referral Hospital in urban area.
Traumas due to road accident are frequent in that setting; Rainbow for Africa and Fondazione don Gnocchi have therefore planned to build a new emergency room to properly treat and stabilize critical traumatized patients. Following first-line surgical treatment, the projects comprehends implementation of a rehabilitation service to allow patient gradual recovery from the trauma.
Apart from capacity building and improving medical equipment, our intervention will also focus on professional training of local surgeons and physiotherapists.
